The mission of the Lower Bucks Family YMCA’s Verizon Interactive Zone is to make a difference in the lives of youth and families by offering educational and recreational opportunities designed to promote Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility in a supervised, safe and secure facility!

• To provide unstructered activities which encourage individuals to explore areas of their own interest.
• To provide youth the opportunity for continued input and decision making in the planning of YMCA teen programs.
• To provide safe structured activities which encourage personal growth, leadership skills and teamwork.
• To provide the opportunity for teens to participate in teambuilding and adventure activities designed to build confidence & improve skills.
• To provide a supervised place for teens to go and “hang out”.
• To provide computer/internet access for assistance with homework assignments and research projects.

VIZ OBJECTIVES

Through a literacy grant from the Verizon Reads Program, the Lower Bucks Family YMCA has opened a new four station Teen Cyber Center computer lab.

The computer lab enables the YMCA to offer literacy programs designed for youth/teens. The new computer is located in the “Y-Zone” has been designed for teens by teens as a place to congregate, learn, and grow during the after school hours. Youth are able to access the internet to complete homework assignment and school research projects!

Fall Wii Tournaments, Movie Nights, and Fun/Games in the Gym (must pre-register at the Membership Desk!

~ Saturday, Sept. 11th: Wii Bowling Tournament, 11am ($5 per entrant includes refreshments)

~ Friday, September 24th: Movie Night, 6:30pm (Free of all Y Members)

~ Saturday, October 9th: Wii Basketball Tournament 3 Point Contest, 11:00am ($5 per entrant includes refreshments)

~ Friday, October 22nd: Movie Night, 6:30pm (Free to all Y Members)

~ Friday, Nov. 5th: Relays and FUN Games in the Gym, 6:30pm (Free to all Y Members)

~ Saturday, Nov. 20th: Wii Tennis or XR-Board Tournament, 11;00am ($5 per entrant includes refreshments)
