Preschool [Three and Four Year Olds]
Because play is the foundation for all learning, the Creative Curriculum is used. Teachers are given the freedom to design lesson plans for the individual needs of the children in their classroom. Children gain self-confidence as they independently explore special centers for dramatic play, math, creative art, science and music.
Preschoolers are introduced to the concepts of 'cause and effect' and 'more or less,' cognitive skills like sequencing and matching, social skills in similarities and diversity, and language art skills such as storytelling and process-writing.
Bright classrooms and a large playground create the backdrop to a learning environment where children are engaged in exciting activities. Children are exposed to special guests; police officers, fire fighters, veterinarians, and puppet shows, to enhance the learning environment.  By encouraging children to learn through play, we offer preschoolers an opportunity to establish a lifelong love of learning, and gain the necessary skills that will guide them toward future academic success.

Infants

Toddlers

* Ages 6 weeks to 12 months

* Ages 12 months to 24 / 2 years to 3 years

Our nursery has been specially designed to create a warm and secure environment for your infant. Parents work with their baby’s teacher to set their child’s schedule to ensure consistency between home and the Fairless Hills Family YMCA. While exploring their play area full of stimulating toys, babies are encouraged to develop at their own pace. Teachers sing songs and read stories to encourage language acquisition and play games to develop motor skills, but most of all they spend lot of time cuddling and talking to babies to install trust and provide comfort.

Toddlers make a great developmental strides from first steps to potty-training, and our teachers are right there to provide support in a fun and active environment. Energetic teachers plan activities to encourage a toddler’s eager investigation of the world. Using the Creative Curriculum for Toddlers, centers for imaginary play, blocks and puzzles, creative art and lots of books are always open for discovery. In order to provide toddlers with the consistency and routine they crave, teachers plan days filled with a balance of quiet activities, spirited music and movement, plenty of outdoor climbing, running and jumping.
Young toddlers, in our Toddler 1 room play and learn in a bright and cheery environment with lots of opportunities for independent exploration. Finger plays, stories and songs are incorporated into each day to foster a toddler’s awareness of the world around them.
For our older toddlers, in our Toddler 2 room, the emphasis is socialization and the acquisition of self-help skills, particularly potty training. Activities such as circle time are introduced to encourage verbal and social growth. In addition, toddlers are practicing hand washing, putting on their coats, picking up their toys and sharing with their friends.
